Logically, How to Decide Between Two Contradicting Aqeedah (Creed) Opinions?

If someone says something is haram (impermissible) and presents clear cut proofs from the Qur'ān and authentic Sunnah in support of that; and another person says it is permissible (i.e. fine to do, but not obligatory) and hardly finds any explicit proof to avail his position. In this case, which opinion is safer to accept and follow?

Let us take the issue of istighaathah (i.e. calling the Prophet ﷺ by saying Ya Rasulallaah for help in a state of danger) as an example.

If we ask those who allow istighaathah in the Prophet ﷺ:

Is it fine to always say Ya Allāh and neglect saying Ya Rasulallaah? And do we sin for not saying ya Rasulallaah in our supplication?

If they say: Yes, you sin for not saying Ya Rasulallaah.

We say to them: give us proofs from the Qur'ān or authentic Sunnah to support that.

And of course, they shall fail to present any.

If they say: No, you do not sin (which means –to them- it is permissible but not obligatory to say Ya Rasulallaah)

We say to every wise Muslim, in such case, which position is rationally safer for you to accept? Is it:

1. The one saying it is haram and major shirk to say Ya Rasulallaah which is supported by a multitude of evidence from the Qur'ān and Sunnah. Hence, by avoiding saying Ya Rasulallaah, you do not sin, and you are secured from committing shirk.

2. Or the one saying it is permissible, which failed to support its position with explicit sound evidence? Hence, by accepting this position, in the sight of many scholars, you have committed major shirk.

Apparently and without doubt, avoiding saying Ya Rasulallaah is the most safe position under all circumstances, and this is acceptable by both opinions. And of course, that does not imply in any way whatsoever that we do not venerate the Prophet. ﷺ. In fact, calling Allāh ﷻ alone and avoiding saying "Ya Rasulallaah" is a complete compliance with the essence of his message ﷺ to his companions and to mankind.

Allāh ﷻ in many places in the Qur'ān and His Prophet ﷺ in the Sunnah have reiterated and asserted that Allāh ﷻ should be called alone and warned unequivocally against calling other than Him ﷻ.

(And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible.) (Ghaafir 40:60)

(And those whom you invoke other than Him (i.e. other than Him includes the prophets, angels, righteous ones…etc.) do not possess [as much as] the membrane of a date seed.(14) If you invoke them, they do not hear your supplication; and if they heard, they would not respond to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will deny your association (shirk). And none can inform you like [one] Acquainted [with all matters].) (Faatir 35:13-14)

Be wise, the Qur’ān and the authentic Sunnah are full with proofs which forbid calling other than Allāh ﷻ.

We Muslims are obliged to abide by the Qur'ān and Sunnah but not to the logic and desires of men.
