Commodification of Man

The dominant secular powers of the West managed to make their subjects obsessively preoccupied with chasing this materialistic worldly gain while overlooking their spiritual yearn for God.

Man, in the secular worldview is nothing but a consumer, who nurtures the greed of the elite. This secular view is devoid of any ethical or moral values; both deemed worthless.

The Muslim world is a vast enticing market; consequently, the secular world is competing fiercely to subjugate this market. And the way to subjugation was to convince the Muslim masses of the superiority of the Western lifestyle over theirs and to mitigate the influence and significance of faith in their life.

The Western media was the loyal combatant, who was given the assignment of handling this duty and had worked fervently to alienate Muslims from their divine values.

Many Muslim parents, unconsciously, were recruited to help the Western media succeed in their mission by exposing their children willingly to the multitude of mediums, which are targeting their minds.

Similarly, let’s not forget that this secular view, also, looks to Muslim women, specifically, as potential consumers. Women are large segment of the Muslim community. Hence, to them, it is not satisfactory to see a Muslim wife staying at home taking care of children. Rather they have exploited every medium to lure her to come out to generate income in order to spend and increase her wealth, which will eventually pour into the pockets of the dominant elite. Family's and children's social integrity is not of any concern to them.

Ironically, the mother leaves her house and hires another woman to take the role of a mother to her children.

We as parents should be observant of how things are operating around us and ask: why are they operating in such a manner and what is the impact of this on us religiously and morally?

Movies, cartoons, video games and schools’ curricula were not presented merely to entertain the body and mind but rather designed cleverly to indoctrinate us to blindly join the herd.

Allowing these mediums to influence our children’s belief and morals is a betrayal to God’s assigned duty to us and completely conflicts with the divine path designed for us to follow.

Take this realistic example and see how many parents are inattentively serving the Western media indoctrination.

Many parents are so keen to have their children enroll in international schools, which offer Western curriculum, and spend fortune on this venture. The core curriculum in these schools is not limited to science and mathematics, rather it is a comprehensive package, which includes passionately preaching the noble Western values. The poor Muslim children grow with these values, which are gradually instilled in them in doses.

Legitimately, handing out your child to grow while holding such values is a betrayal to Allāh’s ﷻ trust. When this child meets Allāh ﷻ on the day of judgment holding a belief that conflicts with Islām or values that are morally corrupt, he will point at you and say: "O Allāh ask my parents, why did they forsake me?"

The Prophet ﷺ said: “No servant is entrusted by Allāh ﷻ of the affairs of his subjects and dies as dishonest to them, Allāh will forbid his entry to paradise” Muslim
